FIRE PERFORMANCE
Flame's speciality is fire performance. We’ve fused fire and dance to create slick, punchy shows guaranteed to enhance any event. We’ve developed new toys to thrill and dazzle which we incorporate into fully choreographed shows. Flame's performers are dancers and our focus is on creating a whole visual spectacle to suit your event.
Flame's shows are performed to upbeat music and include three or five fire dancers. Shows are between five and ten minutes long and incorporate poi, fire staffs, fire wings, fire fans, fire fingers, and fire hula. We can perform in most indoor or outdoor venues.

LEGEND OF THE LAKE
Legend of the Lake is a world-class entertainment experience unique to Queenstown, and with a big WOW factor.
The 20 minute show mixes thrilling fire performance, modern dance, traditional Maori performance, contemporary Maori music and fantastic costumes to bring the legend of Queenstown’s lake to life.
A beautiful Maori maiden falls in love with a young warrior but is promised in marriage to another chief from a neighbouring tribe. The show follows the starcrossed lover’s struggle to be together against all odds, including a massive winged Taniwha (dragon like monster) and raging bushfire.
Ten talented Queenstown performers breathe life into the cast of colourful characters.
The show can be performed both indoors and outdoors.

MAHUIKA'S FIRE
Mahuika's Fire is an hour-long theatrical journey into the realms of magic and fire. It is based on the Maori legend of fire and follows a young man called Maui into the underworld to ask for fire from the fire goddess Mahuika. It is a beautiful show with many twists and turns, suitable for arts festivals or as a stand-alone touring show. See Past Shows and News/Press pages for more info.

FIRE SIGNS
A fire sign is a high impact way to say who you are - literally see your company logo up in flames, or accentuate a theme or visual imagery. Worked in with a fire show, it is the perfect way to finish the night on a high.

Fire breathers and swallowers hark back to the days of freak shows and circuses. They add a guaranteed wow factor and are beautiful to watch.

WALK-ABOUT CHARACTERS
Walk-about characters are the perfect way to create a fun and energetic atmosphere. They help to break down barriers and relax clients.
Our walk-about characters include a stilt walking Queen with her court jester.
The Queen is a larger than life character (literally), 10 feet tall and interacts with her 'subjects' (your guests) and commands her jester to entertain them by juggling, uni-cycling and fire eating. They both generally joke around with the crowd loosening everyone up.
We also have a stilt walking crazy character - bright and colourful who can juggle, devil stick and generally clown around entertaining.
Other walk-about characters include poi princess, hula girl (with lots of bright hula hoops), and drummer boy.
Can be used in conjunction with a fire performance later in the evening.

LORD OF THE RINGS
Themed corporate dinner night
This is our latest product and includes a singing Galadrial, four flag dancing elves, Fire wielding Aragorn and three fire juggling orcs all in authentic and eye catching costumes. This is an idea of how the night could run.
Aragorn who is dressed in a dark cloak with only his face showing meets the group outside the hotel, or marquee.
"Welcome to Middle Earth 'whoever they are'. I am Strider and I'm glad I've found you - it's not safe for you to be here. Our scouts have reported Orcs in the west and coming this way. Quickly now, follow me and I'll take you to an elven safe haven."
They follow Aragorn into the themed room or outside for pre-dinner drinks where they are met by Galadrial who is lit from beneath so she glows white.
"Welcome, you are safe now. Relax, let your cares dissolve, for in Lothlorien our magic is strong. Everything in the outside world can't touch us here, so drink and enjoy."
She then begins to sing a haunting, beautiful song to everyone followed by entrancing flag dance with three other beautiful and serene elves to set the mood for the night.
After dinner Orcs burst into the room disturbing the flow and causing pretend mayhem. They disappear outside and Aragorn bursts into the room.
"Orcs, outside. We've held them off for now, but we have to use fire to scare them back to where they've come from. Come follow me."
He leads them outside and a fire show begins to live drumming and 'Lord of the Rings' music. Very dramatic and impressive that concludes with the defeat of the orcs by Aragorn. He calls to Galadrial who returns, sings a song of farewell and then departs with Aragorn concluding the night.
This entertainment can run in tandem with a band etc.

UV/ELECTROLUMINESCENT FLAGS
Our UV/ Electroluminescent/ Flag show is as visually interesting as our fire show, but can be performed indoors or during a fire ban. The UV toys glow in the dark creating a surreal experience for onlookers, while the Electroluminescent toys take the performance to out of space. The flags are more classical and reminiscent of the oriental.

LIVE DRUMMING
Many of our shows include live drumming - we find it adds an exciting live dimension to any show and creates a high energy atmosphere. People love the drum. It's primal and talks to something deep inside that just wants to get up and dance. A drummer can be employs as a solo act to vamp up a dance floor or set a rocking mood.
